Product description

Review

These poem-prayers are compassionate, contemporary and formally innovative. Improvising key moments in scripture, they offer a fresh perspective, linguistic rhythms grounded in truth and love. Savour them on the tongue, learn them off by heart, customise them, make them your own.

Patience Agbabi, poet, author of Telling Tales, former Poet Laureate of Canterbury. (Patience Agbabi, poet, author of Telling Tales, former Poet Laureate of Canterbury)

Research

Research Interests

Current Research (UCD):

Machine learning: Development of novel cluster analysis and dimensionality reduction algorithms, with a particular focus on their application in text mining tasks.

Network analysis: Development and application of clustering, matrix factorisation, and community finding algorithms to large-scale dynamic social networks.

Social media analytics: Using data mining and visualisation to explore trends and behaviours in online social media platforms. This has included work on topic modelling, sentiment analysis, content curation, and user recommendation systems.

Digital humanities: Application of network analysis techniques to explore character networks in 19th & 20th century novels, in collaboration with UCD Humanities Institute.

This work is undertaken as part of the SFI-funded Insight Centre @ UCD.

PhD Thesis (Trinity College Dublin):

A State-of-the-Art Toolkit for Document Clustering

This work provides a new framework supporting the development of applications for exploratory text mining tasks. As well as allowing researchers to apply popular learning algorithms to large document collections, the framework introduces a variety of novel data analysis procedures based on kernel learning, cluster ensembles, and matrix decomposition methods.
